Otl Aicher (1922–1991) is a major figure in 20th century graphic design. Aicher’s comprehensive work for the 1972 Munich Olympics is the definitive example for today’s graphic identity and branding programs. The posters, tickets, books, brochures, uniforms, signage, and architectural graphics in this exhibit demonstrate the playful humanity and exuberance that simple elements of icon, type, color, and texture are capable of producing when in the mind and hands of a master designer. This major exhibition will include 50 posters as well as dozens of other objects from the 1972 Olympics and other identity projects by Büro Aicher.

New Phantom Galleries murals on So. First Street

Six new beautiful paintings on 8' x 8' wood panels were installed over the weekend on an existing construction wall to make the walk down South First St. (btwn San Fernando & Post St.) a much more colorful experience!

Our sincere thanks to Pellet, Lacey Bryant, Lara Sophia, Christine Benjamin, Andy Gouveia and Michael Foley for this series of murals. Each artist has created thoughtful expressions of their experiences and, in some cases, concerns of a rapidly growing urban center. Next time you're downtown, take a stroll by the new exhibit on your way to dinner, the movies, or the galleries.
