Polymer Clay Reversible Bracelet class on Oct. 23rd

Deborah Anderson, (current KALEID artist) will be teaching a polymer clay class in which students will create a fun and colorful bracelet made entirely of polymer clay with different designs on each side, so that it can be worn either way.

Date: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 10am to 2pm.
Location: Michaels Art & Crafts Store, 5550 Snell Ave. (at Blossom Hill Road), San Jose

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Students will create a fun and colorful bracelet made entirely of polymer clay with different designs on each side, so that it can be worn either way. First, we will be applying a surface treatment onto clay sheets, using decorating chalks, inks and rubber stamps. Then we will use the patterned sheets to construct the clay tiles for the bracelet. You will also learn how to create a cord channel in which the elastic cord will fit through and make a toggle fastener. Lastly, you will be shown how to string the tiles together to complete the bracelet

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Pasta machine, clay blade, acrylic roller, work surface, FIMO Soft brand of polymer clay preconditioned: one 2oz block of white, one 2oz block of black, and other colors of your choice, 12 or more glass sead beads with holes large enough for the elastic cord to fit through, elastic beading cord. scissors. Optional items: If you already have the following items, please bring them: a stipple brush or a small paint brush, a set of decorating chalks, 2 or more assorted rubber stamps of your choice, Ancient Page coal black ink pad , metallic Gel Pens, spacer beads. Please note: Instructor will bring the “optional items” listed, to share.
