Recently the Washington Neighborhood experienced senseless violence resulting in the loss of two lives and sending shockwaves of sadness and fear through the community.
On May 21st at 1:45pm, Lorenzo Torres and another man were shot, Lorenzo died from his wounds.
On May 23rd at 4:30pm, Vahid Hosseini was gunned down in the Bank of the West parking lot on his way back to the Willow Market that he and his wife ran for many years. Vahid later died from his wounds.
Both of these tragedies occured in broad daylight, within a short distance from our school, parks, youth centers, library and our most importantly, our homes.
Our community would like to invite you to an opportunity to demonstrate to our children, families and the city as a whole, that we stand for Peace, Dignity and Community.
Please join us!
