Poetry Evening at Medrano Gallery

Come out and support two local poets, Mark Heinlein and Judith Sutton this Friday, March 20 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Mary Medrano Gallery.

Mark Heinlein’s work cuts to the emotional bone of our daily activities. From eating leftover kung pao chicken, flocking Christmas trees, grocery shopping, to contemplating the magnitude of war and the inevitable struggles with mortality, to the fine caresses of lovers, Mark’s work finds beauty and humanity in the mundane aspects of our lives. A finalist for the 2008 Edwin Markham Poetry Prize, his work has been performed live on the radio, and he has read his poems at the Cinequest Festival and at bars, galleries, bedrooms and bookstores throughout Northern California.

Judith Sutton is a poet and teacher at Saratoga High School. She was recently awarded by the Mayor of Saratoga - and her students just published a letterpress book on Mutanabi Street, an ancient bookstall bombed in Baghdad.

There will also be live music in the courtyard by the very soulful, Kaila D'Sa.
