Kimy Martinez is a narrative painter that resides in south San Jose with her husband and two children. Her paintings are figurative, surreal and dream like in nature. An organic circle of life is connected to her imagery. Her work is powerful and visceral and packs an emotional punch.
A graduate of University of Portland, Kimy also has theatre and performance experience. She is editor of the online Literary and Visual arts magazine, LIT n IMAGE and is an esteemed member of the Works/San Jose Board. She is also active in Art Shots and the WOW program( Art Workshops On Wheels designed to serve the community)
A performance by Gianfranco Paolozzi on accordion, a Drum Circle and Open Mic are also part of the program. A Sober and potluck environment are encouraged.
