Arc Studios and Gallery DOLLHOUSE" exhibition Dec 4th - Jan 15th
"Dolls are substitutes for humans, and are used in both childhood and adult play. A plastic doll, robot, sock monkey, paper doll, rag doll, nutcracker, marionette, soldier, voodoo effigy and blowup sex toy, they are all repositories of our fears, fantasies, and desires. We love them, we fear them; we cherish them, we tear them apart; we talk to them, they talk to us. We imbue them with our imaginary life and in return they transport us into their worlds. For the Holiday Season, Arc Gallery will be figuratively transformed into a giant dollhouse for one-of-a-kind dolls and dollhouses. Artists are invited to liberally interpret their concept of 'dolls' and 'dollhouses,' and bring to life a creature or world from your wildest imaginings."
JUROR: Jack Fischer is the owner of Jack Fischer Gallery at 49 Geary in San Francisco. His gallery exhibits work from a diverse group of artists that fall under the rubrics of outsider, folk, contemporary, naive, visionary, self-taught, and intuitive.'

EXHIBITION DATES: December 4, 2010 – January 15, 2011
DOLLHOUSE RECEPTION: Saturday, December 4 from 7:00 - 10:00 pm
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Works must be submitted online by October 31, 2010 to be considered for jurying.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists residing in the Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin,
Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.
CATEGORIES: Sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, ceramics, assemblage,
collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book.
This exhibition cannot accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation and works requiring an external electrical source.
ARTWORK MAXIMUM SIZE/WEIGHT: Height 10 feet, Width 5 feet
ARTIST STATEMENT: Provide a statement about the specific work(s) you are submitting and its relevance to the concept of “Dollhouse.”
NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE: Payment of $35 for up to three entries. Only three images may be uploaded. Payment through Paypal only.
SELECTION OF WORK: The juror will select works that will be on display at the Arc Gallery on 1246 Folsom Street. These works will also be on display in the Arc online gallery. Additionally, the juror will select a few works that will be on display in the Arc online gallery only. This allows for more works to be seen beyond the 1000 square feet physical limitation of the gallery.
SALES OF ART: 60% of the sale will go to the artists, 40% of the sale will go to Arc. Items
sold must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show.
NOTIFICATION TO ARTISTS: Artists will be notified on November 15, 2010.
